Saving the Environment
Recycling has been the basis of Kuusakoski’s operations since the company was established in Viipuri, Finland in 1914. Our principle is to keep irreplaceable natural raw materials in production by recycling and refining metals into new raw materials for use by industry. Kuusakoski collects and processes all recyclable materials from our customers and makes them into recycled steel and aluminium.
Environmental Strategy
Kuusakoski studies the effects of its operations on the environmental in order to create the most Environmentally friendly procedures for its recycling processes. We work together with officials and industry experts continuously to develop our recycling systems.
Certification
The environmental system is an essential part of Kuusakoski’s management system. Kuusakoski Oy’s Finnish, Swedish Estonian and Lithuanian organisations have ISO 14001 environmental certification. The environmental certification of the plants in Finland (including Heinola) and Estonia was granted by Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI) and that of Kuusakoski Sverige Ab by SP Sveriges Provnings- och Forskninginstitut.
